Policies

My Expectations of Clients

  • Etiquette
  1. Promptness - If you arrive late, your session will be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours.  Late appointments still require full payment of the scheduled slot, regardless of the actual duration of the session.
  2. Timely cancellation – If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, so that the appointment can be filled.
  3. No-shows - Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their missed appointment.
  4. Hygiene – Please be clean and shower the day of your appointment, if possible.  Do not eat a heavy meal less than an hour before your scheduled appointment.
  5. Cell phones – Cell phones are expected to remain on silent during the session.
  6. Misc. – Smoking is not allowed in the office or on the premises; I will not provide services if the client is obviously inebriated or under the influence of drugs; sexual harassment is not tolerated.
  • Health History – Clients are expected to provide an accurate health history and update it when necessary.
  • Minors – A minor client (anyone under the age of 18) must have a parent or guardian sign all intake forms at the first appointment and any succeeding appointments where information is updated.  I require that minors not disrobe, and I encourage parents/guardians to remain present during treatment.
  • Payment – Payment is expected at the time of service and is accepted in the form of cash, check, or card.  Please refer to the appropriate page for current pricing of sessions.  
  • Tipping – I am a professional wellness care provider with set fees, and because of the nature of the therapeutic relationship, I do not accept tips.
  • Credit Terms – In the event that a client cannot pay for their appointment, I will allow the client to delay payment until the next scheduled appointment, but that next session will not begin until payment has been made for the previous unpaid session, unless another arrangement has been previously made.   

 

What Clients Can expect from Me

  • Professionalism – I serve each client by providing competent and professional services, addressing each client’s specific needs for that session.  I treat all clients with respect and dignity.
  1. I perform services for which I am qualified legally, physically, and emotionally.
  2. I refer clients to appropriate specialists if they need work outside my scope of practice.
  3. I keep accurate records and review charts before each session.
  4. My office, equipment, and supplies are clean and safe.
  5. I uphold personal and professional boundaries (including professional draping methods) at all times.  I do not require any client to disrobe beyond their personal boundaries and comfort level.
  6. If I need to cancel an appointment, I do so at least 24 hours before the appointment, when possible.  If an emergency arises, and I must cancel an appointment within 24 hours, that client’s next appointment will be given a 40% discount.
  7. I stay current on information and techniques by reading, taking classes, and receiving massage sessions myself.
  • Availability – I am available to clients by appointment only.  I return calls and emails within 24 hours, unless I am out of town.
  • Confidentiality – All client information will be kept private and confidential.  No client information will be issued to outside entities without the prior written consent of the client.  The only exceptions to this policy exist in the cases of clear and imminent danger, suspected abuse of a child or dependent person, or a court subpoena.
  • Appointment Reminders – I place an appointment confirmation call or text the day before a scheduled session.  I may also make a follow-up call or text a day or two after a session in which a client experiences a major shift.
  • Gift Certificates – Gift certificates purchased from me will remain redeemable without expiration, unless I am no longer practicing, at which point I would seek to refund all outstanding gift certificates.  If my rates should change after the issuing of a gift certificate, I will honor the amount paid for the certificate as adequate for the specified service.  All gift certificates are transferable and can be redeemed by anyone they are given to.
  • Insurance Billing – I do not provide direct billing for insurance.
